Aboriginal Tourism Programs

Tourism BC works with the Aboriginal Tourism Association of BC (AtBC) to aid in implementing the Aboriginal Tourism Blueprint Strategy, a long term plan for the sustainable growth and development of the province’s Aboriginal tourism sector.

The benefits of this initiative include bringing visitors to every region of the province to encounter authentic Aboriginal culture in the areas of cuisine, interpretive tours, and accommodation. Visitors are also invited to attend special events such as Pow Wows, Aboriginal Day celebrations, Indigenous sporting events and other significant festivals which are updated regularly on ATBC’s website.

The Aboriginal Tourism Association of BC’s mission statement is to preserve rich Aboriginal culture through the advancement of sustainable economic development by providing a quality Aboriginal tourism industry in British Columbia that exceeds visitor expectations.  AtBC continues to apply the mission with their long term vision to create a healthy, prosperous, strong, respectful and dynamic Aboriginal tourism industry sharing authentic high quality products.
