Welcome the World™

This new consumer marketing program provides tourism businesses with the opportunity to share the excitement and leverage increasing attention as we approach the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The program will also assist you to capitalize on the legacies generated by the Games beyond 2010.

Program activities target leisure travellers from key North American markets and include television, magazine and online advertising, search marketing and electronic direct mail. These approaches drive consumers to order the new 2009 British Columbia Insider’s Guide with distribution expected to be 300,000. This includes downloaded PDF copies which hyperlink to tourism businesses’ websites.

Details of buy-in opportunities for the 2010 Welcome the World™ program will be available in mid Fall 2009. Please check back for more details.

Market Coverage

Primary American markets include California and Washington. Primary Canadian markets include BC, Alberta and Ontario.

Who Should Participate/Who Will Benefit Most

Accommodation businesses that are part of the Reservations Service program and non-accommodation businesses (activities, attractions, transportation) that are part of the HelloBC® Listings Program.
