The Opportunity
The white and blue designs provide clear, consistent information to help motorists locate facilities. Signs are directional in nature only, and are not intended to promote or advertise a particular service or attraction, or be part of any property's marketing initiatives.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is responsible for the installation and removal of highway signs, and require Tourism BC approval for accommodation, attraction or artisan businesses, before signing will be considered. However, Ministry policy concerning operational safety, in all cases supersedes Tourism BC approval of an accommodation, attraction or artisan business.
Accommodation properties must be 'approved' (undergo a successful on-site inspection) and enroll annually in the HelloBC Listings Program to be eligible to apply for Service and Attraction signs.
Accommodation businesses who wish to be listed in print and online must be inspected and approved by Tourism BC. For more information, please download the Guide to Tourism BC's Inspection and Approval Process.
