Sector Profiles
The Sector Profiles provide an overview on the size of
the tourism sector. They include both a demographic profile and travel
characteristics of travellers who participated in the water based activities (information sources used include: Travel Activities & Motivation
Survey and/or the International Traveller Survey). They also contain information
about other activities these travellers participated in while on overnight
trips, plus infomation on other destinations (besides BC) these travellers have
been to in the past. Towards the end of each profile, you will find information
on the economic impact of the sector, and an update on any emerging trends
associated with the sector. They're approximately eight pages in length each and
are complied using various information sources.

following sector/activity research reports.
British Columbia's River Outfitter Client Survey (2007)

The British Columbia's River Outfitter Client Survey (2007) was conducted by Research & Planning, Tourism British Columbia in partnership with the British Columbia River Outfitters Association (BCROA), and various British Columbia river outfitting businesses in BC. The project was initiated through Tourism British Columbia's Experiences BC program. This report includes information on total trip characteristics such as: trip purpose, planning, duration, length of stay in BC, destination decision-making, primary destination, type of accommodation used, other activities, expenditures, likelihood of returning and travel party demographics.
British Columbia's Sea Kayakers Report (2005)

Tourism British Columbia, in partnership with the British Columbia Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of British Columbia have produced the
British Columbia's Sea Kayakers Report (2005) on the characteristics of sea kayaking businesses operating in British Columbia. The research contains business data related to 2005.
British Columbia's River Outfitters Report (2005)

Tourism British Columbia, in partnership with the British Columbia River Outfitters Association, have produced the
British Columbia's River Outfitters Report (2005) on the characteristics of river outfitting businesses operating in British Columbia. The research was conducted over the spring, summer and fall of 2006 and contains business data related to 2003, 2004, and 2005.
Recreational Scuba Diving in British Columbia Report

Undertaken by the Dive Industry Association of British Columbia, in partnership with Tourism British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, the Underwater Council of British Columbia and Scuba Schools International Canada, the
Recreational Scuba Diving in British Columbia Report estimates the size of the recreational scuba diving industry in the province of British Columbia. The survey on which this report is based was also designed to examine the products and services offered by the recreational scuba diving industry, to obtain demographic data about clients and to explore the general health of the industry.
