Tourism British Columbia is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Rybar to the position of Publication Director and General Manager for British Columbia Magazine.
In this newly created position, Rybar will lead a strong team dedicated to the continued success of one of the strongest travel-focused media properties in Western Canada. The strength of British Columbia Magazine lies in the large subscriber base, in which many also send multiple subscriptions as gifts, bringing award-winning editorial and high-quality photos to British Columbian travellers. This is an asset Rybar plans to maintain.
"We have such dedicated, loyal readers, brilliant writers and photographers, and supportive partners that my main job is to ensure the magazine continues to operate smoothly and get into the hands of our over 1.3 million readers," Rybar said. "However, there are always opportunities to keep the magazine fresh and progressive and I look forward to working with the magazine team to continue to profile British Columbia's beautiful places, remarkable people and intriguing journeys in new and exciting ways."
Rybar brings more than 13 years of Marketing and Management experience, in which time she has successfully developed strategic plans, launched new business opportunities, managed programs and improved customer experiences. For the past two years, she was in Tourism BC's North America Marketing department, with responsibility for the Listing Program and the Vacation Planner, Outdoor Adventure Guide and Approved Accommodation Guide publications.
