700 tourism professionals from across the world gathered in Banff, Alberta from November 27 - November 30 for Western Canada's premier trade show, the 19th Annual Canada's West Marketplace trade show.
Each year, the Marketplace brings together British Columbia and Alberta tourism suppliers with tourism buyers from across the world in one location. Since its inception 1989, the Marketplace has proven to be an excellent forum for tourism businesses to promote their range of products to tour operators, wholesalers and travel media representatives from across Europe, Asia/Pacific and the Americas.
This year's event hosted 50 new buyers from countries such as China, Australia, UK, the United States and South Korea, and had the highest buyer attendance and delegation in its 19-year history. There were 160 buyers representing 142 organizations and 279 BC seller delegates registered at the event.
Established in 1989, Canada's West Marketplace (CWM) is a partnership between Tourism British Columbia and Travel Alberta. The CWM trade show is an annual Marketplace forum for promoting western Canada tourism products to international tour operators, wholesalers and travel trade media. Each year, the Marketplace alternates locations between Alberta and British Columbia.
