The Community Tourism Foundations program continues to assist BC communities in establishing effective tourism planning and implementation. The Community Tourism Foundations program is currently working with a total of 42 communities.
Through this program communities are addressing development issues such as creating an organization that focuses on marketing the community as a travel destination, assisting tourism operators with product development, conducting visitor research to determine trends, tracking local industry performance and creating and measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. The Community Tourism Foundations program encourages the adoption of best practices and offers existing research, education and marketing programs for communities to participate in.
