BC Escapes® Media Launch |

Over 100 guests attended a March 6th gathering of Vancouver travel media during Tourism British Columbia’s 2008 BC Escapes® Launch at the Westin Bayshore. It was the kick off of another season of the highly successful program, which highlighted what's new in BC and featured unique experiences that beautifully mirrored the province’s adventure playground and cultural landscape. BC Escapes® has been running for 10 years targeting leisure travellers from key North American markets with accommodation offers and getaway ideas. An important shift this year are E-guides, an eco-friendly alternative to the print versions. Tourism BC Vice President of Consumer Marketing Grant Mackay addressed the crowd comprised of industry partners and travel media from all mediums - print, broadcast and web. Mackay noted that the success of BC Escapes® hinges not only on generating strong tourism revenue, but on Tourism BC’s continued efforts to connect consumers to the experiences they want.
